In this assignment, I practiced saving this .jpg image to two other common formats; .gif & .png. As I mentioned in my last entry, each format is better for certain files, as you can see from these three photos, the images have some differences. For instance, the .gif format looks pixelated, especially on the child's face. The .jpg format looks a like it kept a little more of the color than the .png format did. Based on this comparison, I would recommend using .jpg to save photos, since it seems to keep the image properties better.

In this assignment, I practiced saving a file to different formats. The different formats are better for certain types of files, although they can be used for the same type of file as well.

This is the edited version of a photo of a boy with red eye; in this lesson, we practiced techniques used to remove red eye from photos. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. I could've sworn I typed in "Passed Audio" beside my name, but apparently I did not. For some reason, my internet explorer keeps resetting itself, I wonder if anyone has any ideas as to why I keep having this problem?

Hello, My name is Michelle...

...I'm a 26 year old mother of 2 boys (ages 6 & 3) and one more on the way. I just started my first semester at BC's Woods College of Advancing Studies as a Corporate Systems Major and within the next month will finish a program in another school for Esthetics (facials, waxing, and makeup). I spent 6 years in the Navy as a Machinist Mate; I went in right out of high school. I've lived in 3 different states, raised in Charlestown, MA, South Carolina (2 years), Virginia (4 years),  and eventually found myself (and my family) back in Everett, MA. 

I'm pretty excited and a little anxious about learning computer graphics. I'm hoping it will be a fun experience and not too difficult for me to keep up with.
